Do you think of a reservoir as a location with stunningly gorgeous views and the perfect spot for a photoshoot? No? Then you clearly haven’t ever been to Horsetooth Reservoir and you definitely haven’t seen this spring engagement photo session. If you live in Colorado and are looking for a spot to do your engagement photos, you’ll want to stick around and read more about Horsetooth Reservoir!
Horsetooth reservoir is one of Colorado’s most scenic outdoor paradises with water. The reservoir goes as far as the eye can see since it’s over 6 miles long. It’s surrounded by rolling hills, mountains, trails, and even beach access! This is a beautiful backdrop for any engagement session, wedding, or elopement.
Even if you aren’t looking for a location for your next photoshoot, this should become your new adventure spot. You can bike and hike with stunning views and boat, fish, swim, paddleboard, and even scuba dive in the reservoir! There are camping and RV spots around the reservoir which are open year round. If that’s not your vibe, but you want to stay the night, there are cabins and B&Bs in the area! It’s also super close to a state park which is where we ended the night for this engagement session.
This spring engagement session at Horsetooth reservoir in Fort Collins, Colorado was a “new-life” dream. Izzy + Kyle were one of my first sessions of my busy 2022 season. I loved going on this beautiful getaway. It was the perfect break from the hustle and bustle of Denver, which I call home. And bonus I got to photograph this gorgeous, fun-loving couple at this stunning slice of paradise in Colorado.
If you’re looking for a spring engagement session location that is just bursting with new life and new growth, Horsetooth Reservoir is for you! If you’re also looking for a spot to paddleboard, kayak, or have a beach day in Colorado, this is great place for that too. Maybe an engagement session paddle boarding with your lover? Okay, I’ll defer and let you enjoy their beautiful spring engagement photo session at Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins, Colorado!
Izzy + Kyle brought two outfits with different vibes for both of them. I’m always a fan of an outfit change for sessions. It helps you be able to match the vibe of your outfit to the vibe of the scenery. I also encourage it so that you can make the most of your session. An outfit change gives your photos new life and makes it feel like two totally different sessions! Feeling super lost when it comes to what to wear for your engagement session? I got you, friend.
