3 Website Mistakes You Might Be Making

When it comes to attracting your dream clientele, guiding potential clients through your website, and even just encouraging them to inquire with you and feel confident enough to get on a call before they end up hearing from you, your website is incredibly important.

However, there are 3 mistakes that might be hindering your success in getting inquiries and bookings.

Talking too much about yourself

In my free workshop, How to Attract and Book Dream Couples, one of the things I touch on in the website piece is that you could be saying “I”, “me”, and “my” too much. Check on your website and see how often you are actually saying those words. If you notice you have a lot of those words coming up, a good idea would be to reframe those sentences to be about your dream couple and talk directly to them.

A great example of this is whenever you’re saying something like, “I love to photograph timeless and effortless images”, you could turn it around and say, “You deserve images that are timeless and effortless so that you can look back on these photos for years to come.” See how that’s so much more powerful and talks right to the couple?

So, I encourage you to take this step today and make that change.

You go right into talking about yourself below the hero image on your website

Rather than having a section that’s completely dedicated to your client and speaking to them, you have an “about me” section. If you need some inspo, you can check out MY WEBSITE to see what I’m talking about. You can see that I speak directly to the desires of my dream client, and share with them how I’ll serve them and what they are hoping for.

Having this right at the forefront of your website will let them know that they’ve landed in the right place.

Speaking to a broad audience

Let me start off by saying that if you have multiple niches, this is allowed. You can absolutely photograph weddings, elopements, families, maternity, and all of the things. However, it comes down to how you market it and how you position yourself.

One thing that I suggest, and I tell my students in Book It to do this as well, is to focus on one specific niche that you want to book the most and have it be your biggest revenue maker. Position your website mainly around that niche. Then, you can have separate services pages that are geared towards the other niches.

You’ve probably heard the term, “when you are speaking to everyone, you’re speaking to no one.” It’s really hard to book your dream couples and find people who are so aligned and ready to pay your highest packages if it seems like you’re doing everything.

So, I want to give you that permission to do more than just one thing, but you just have to go about it in a strategic way.

Here’s an example: a lot of my students mainly want to focus on weddings or elopements, but they also have some smaller niches too. I have them build their website around their main niche, which in this case is their wedding client. They speak to their desires, their wishes, the flow of their day, how you can serve them on a wedding day, your shooting style, and all the things that are included in your packages.

Then, you would have separate services pages for the other niches you want to still photograph, and those would basically be like landing pages that have all the information that a family, maternity, boudoir, or whatever client would need to know.

This is how to strategically market multiple services without overwhelming your main audience.

The new format for Book It

I also want to announce something to you, and that is I have changed the format of Book It. If you’ve been around for a while, you have heard of this program because it’s been my signature program for about a year and a half. I’ve been able to serve hundreds of photographers, and while talking with so many of you who would apply over the years, I know sometimes finances are just not there to make it happen.

So, I’ve changed the structure. Book It is now a course with a little bit of mentorship access. It’s now a self-paced course option that is literally a fraction of the mentorship program price.

And you may be thinking, “Well, if it’s cheaper, is it less valuable?” And I want to tell you this – 2024 is the year where I really want you to be able to make more impact in your business. If you’re struggling with converting inquiries, or you feel disorganized, or you don’t know how to serve your clients with an elevated client experience, or you don’t know your numbers, Book It will teach you.

I want you to have a profitable, fulfilling, and sustainable type of business model where you really do attract your dream clientele, and not just attract them, but book them. And your website is a huge piece of that, which is something I teach very in-depth inside Book It as well. So, I just wanted to extend that invitation to you. You can take a look at the link and see how the modules are broken down and what you will learn so you can determine whether or not you think it would be a good fit for you. I am offering $500 off right now for this soft launch. If you do have any questions, please know you can always drop into my DMs at any time.
