Bride and groom share their first kiss after their ceremony on Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park. This is one of the best places to elope in Olympic National Park!

Best Olympic National Park Elopement Locations

1. Hoh Rainforest

The Hoh Rainforest is one of the largest temperate rainforests in the U.S., making the perfect spot to elope if you are looking for lush greenery! Because it is a rainforest, it does get lots of rain – especially in the winter season! If you are looking for bright sunny skies, this most likely isn’t the best option for you.

This area has 3 main trails that take you deep into the iconic Washington ferns and 100+ ft tall trees. Minutes into the trails you feel like you’ve been transported to the most magical rainforest. This would be a peaceful early morning spot to have your elopement ceremony or share private vows!

If you are looking to bring your furry friend a long to the Hoh Rainforest, sadly you cannot. Pets are NOT allowed in this area!

Best Season: April through September [June – August being peak season]

Location: Approximately 2 hours drive from Port Angeles, 1 hour drive from Forks

Please note, this spot can get VERY busy during peak season. The parking lot is quite small and it’s a “one in one out” system. I would recommend going early in the morning or later in the day to avoid hours waiting in line for a parking spot!

2. Rialto Beach

Rialto Beach is known to be one of the most quintessential beaches in the PNW. From the foggy mornings and drift wood lining the shore to tide pools and rocky sea stacks. The drift wood can actually make for super cool photo opportunities since you can climb on it!

If you’re up for a little hike, Hole-In-The-Wall is one of the most beautiful places to elope on Rialto Beach. It’s about a 3 mile, round trip walk down the beach to beautiful rocky sea stacks and tide pools. Be sure to time it right with the tide schedule so you can actually walk out to the part that makes it “Hole in the Wall”.

Ruby Beaches is known to be one of the most famous and beautiful beaches in the PNW. The landscape is very similar to its northern beach friend, Rialto Beach.

There are no marked trails on the beach, you are free to roam around and explore! Olympic National Park Elopement Tips

Now that you know the 3 best places to elope in Olympic National Park, let me share some of my tips for eloping in ONP!

  • There’s limited cell service within the park. I’d recommend downloading all your maps offline so you can still navigate without using service!
  • You need permits to elope at all of these locations. This is something I am happy to help you figure out if you hire me!
  • Get anything you might need [snacks, gas, etc.] before leaving Port Angeles. There is a small town, Forks, but it’s quite limited in its resource options.
  • Be prepared for rainy and chilly weather, even in the summer! This is the PNW and it’s known for it’s moody weather all year long. That being said, sunny and warm days definitely do happen!

While I hope you found this blog helpful, I have even more tips and locations I can’t wait to share with you if you hire me to capture your Olympic National Park elopement!
