This North Start Gatherings wedding was everything you’re dreaming of if you love a mix of boho and modern. Hannah + Hayden have such a special place in my heart because they were my first Colorado wedding couple before I moved and was still living in Nashville. They are 2 of the most down-to-earth, genuine, and kind-hearted people I’ve ever met. It was truly a privilege to capture their love. Their North Star Gatherings wedding was like none other, so personal and intentional.
I flew out to capture their engagement session a few months before the wedding, and we hit it off right away. They are the couple that I am also so happy to be friends with in real life too! Once I moved out to Colorado, I went on a venue tour with them to envision their day in person and we grabbed pizza and beer together afterwards. I loved doing this!
Hannah + Hayden bring out the silliness in each other. It was such a joy to capture so many personality photos on their wedding day. I love when my couples don’t hold back their true personality and are fully themselves in front of the camera. I will forever be honored that they trusted me enough to let me into that space.
All day it was calling for rain right around the time planned for pictures and their outdoor ceremony. When I arrived at the venue, it was beautiful and sunny, but you could see this daunting cloud just on the other side of the mountain pass. That cloud did not rain on their parade though. They got to have the ceremony of their dreams with the mountain backdrop on the stunning North Star Gatherings patio.
I instantly felt like a part of the family upon meeting the wedding party and their closest people. They were all so kind and welcoming. During the wedding ceremony, Hannah + Hayden shared vows and potted a plant with soil from their home states, California and Colorado. Hannah’s sister had the honor of officiating, which made the ceremony that much more special. It was such an intentional and joy-filled day!
Hayden was so happy all day and overwhelmed with joy. Because of this, he never shed a tear… until the dance floor. It was the sweetest moment. Their favorite people surrounding them, dancing their hearts out, and Hannah wiping away his tears – truly magical.
I mentioned before that it didn’t rain a drop during the day. Once the dance floor opened up, it started pouring. Almost every single guest, including myself, was on the patio dancing in the pouring rain. It made for such a fun memory to end their day. Just imagine… Umbrella by Rhianna playing while you dance your heart out in the pouring rain right after you married the love of your life (epic).
