This backyard wedding was boho, intimate, and super emotional. Katie, Chip, and I became instant friends from the very start. They had their wedding at Chip’s parents house in Nashville, Tennessee. Their backyard was already gorgeous, but the tent and the decorations took it to another level. Now when I say this backyard wedding was emotional, I mean there were more tears of joy shed on this day than any other wedding I have ever experienced.
Don’t believe me? Go take a look at their first look photos down below. Their first look was so emotional, they shared private vows and read letters to each other. Tears were streaming from both of their eyes, and in turn, I was having a hard time seeing through the viewfinder myself to snap the photos.
Katie + Chip are the true definition of a couple who have gone through hardships and come out the other side even stronger. They have weathered hardships from the death of a parent, life changes, the pandemic, moving, a new house and home renovations, and so much more. Even in those tough seasons, their joy was (and still is) completely radiant because they get to do life together.
One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is getting to go on the planning journey with my couples. I get to help them make all of their dreams come true and then watch them happen in real life. From the very beginning, Katie + Chip wanted nothing more than a boho flair to their backyard wedding. They worked tirelessly to make Chip’s parent’s backyard the perfect space for their backyard wedding that fit right into their dreams for the day. I loved being able to get a front row seat and be a helping hand through it all!
