Intimate Smoky Mountain Wedding at Spence Cabin

This smoky mountain wedding was incredibly intentional with the most down-to-earth couple. When Ally + Brice first started planning their wedding, they wanted to have an indoor industrial wedding with over 100 guests. As they dove deeper into the planning process, they discovered that an intimate wedding was more in line with their desires as a couple.

Ally: “Our wedding day had so many changes and Claire was so supportive through them all. We started out with a big 120 people wedding inside a beautiful indoor venue and changed to less than 30 people at a cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We knew family and friends may be upset by our decision, but Claire was so reassuring. She told us to do what WE want for our wedding day and that it was about US. She supported us through it all. So having her as a constant reminder to us to just make our day be what we wanted and not what others wanted is exactly what we needed. Know that when you book Claire, she is 100% in it for YOU.”

The Intimate Wedding Day

Ally + Brice have a love for travel, national parks, dogs, each other, and the people closest to them. So Spence Cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park made perfect sense for their day. Since photos meant the most to them, I was lucky enough to capture their love for each other 3 different times during their engagement season.

Want to see the two of them out in snow up to their knees? Check out their engagement session in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Ally: “Claire made sure we got every single photo we could have wanted and more. Above all, she knew photos were the most important part of the day for us. Every chance we got, we would run off to go take more photos! When I say that Claire will make sure your wedding day is what you want, she truly goes above and beyond to make sure of it. As a result, it shows in your photos! Because of all of that, having Claire by our side throughout the entire wedding day was such a comforting feeling.”

Nothing brings me more joy than when couples appreciate how priceless photos are. When they want to make every effort to have plenty of time for photos, my heart skips a beat. I love helping to make the day magical and making sure it’s all about the couple.

Without further ado, here is the gallery from this beautiful smoky mountain wedding.

After your elopement, have your guests join you at the cabin for an intimate reception. After celebrations, there is so much to do in Gatlinburg.

Once you are looking for a destination wedding or elopement photographer, I would love to hear from you!

Moments are constantly fleeting. That sounds depressing at first, but I don't mean it that way. More so, this reality gives me an incredible importance as a wedding photographer to capture the future memory within that moment as it truly happened. Isn't that a beautiful thing?

I'm not interested in photographing fabricated version of you or your day. I want to photograph the real stuff. The tears, laughs, and stolen glances... Your guests dressed to the nines and bringing the party on the dance floor. And mostly, the unplanned, undeniably-you moments during one of the biggest celebrations of your life.

If you're looking for a documentary-style photographer who appreciates all of the big and small moments, who will make your guests feel seen and known, and who truly cares about storytelling every moment that makes your day yours, you've found your match.

As your photographer, I believe in photographing who you actually are.
